Ideological

Ideološka sestavljanka 160x600cm (48 art works, each 40x50cm) oil painting with Alja Pregl, 2009

My life is at the intersection of Eastern and Western cultures. Growing up, I experienced the influence of two prominent leaders, Mao Zedong and Josip Broz Tito, who left their marks on the political landscapes of both the former Yugoslavia and China. I explore the issues surrounding identity, history, and context that played pivotal roles in both the breakup of Yugoslavia and the era of Mao Zedong in China.

Much of my creative thinking is dedicated to the imagery of the past and the possibilities of carrying it forward into contemporary times and art spaces but with new content, meaning, and explanation. I am on a mission of beauty, actively uniting images from the Chinese and Slovenian environments. My life between the two worlds is my endless artistic journey.
